Encountering the Mind
Amid the daily rush,
Do you feel weary?
In endless outward pursuits,
Have you ever wished for a moment with your own mind?
Forged through time,
Tempered by the trials of the world,
Through shifting roles,
Do you still remember yourself?
Lost in pleasure,
Immersed in pain,
Caught in the cycle of seeking joy and fleeing sorrow,
The mind forgets itself,
Without ever glimpsing its true essence.
In the endless night of samsara,
The mind, shrouded in mist,
Awaits a fleeting opportunity,
Guided by the light’s glow,
Following the map’s path,
To finally meet itself.
Encountering the mind,
Allowing it to be itself,
Becoming the knowing mind.
The Third Malaysian Satipatthana Meditation Retreat

The in-person retreat requires on-site attendance, offers the opportunity for a meditation interview with the teacher, and requires participation in a five-week Pre-Retreat Cultivation Sessions. In-person students are responsible for their own hotel, meals, and airport transfer expenses.
The online retreat is conducted via Zoom with cameras off, does not include eligibility for a meditation interview, and offers optional participation in the Pre-Retreat Cultivation Sessions. Online students incur no additional costs.
You may switch to the online retreat, but the meditation interview opportunity will be canceled.
To minimize distractions and support concentration, all in-person students are required to stay on-site for the entire duration of the retreat to gain maximum benefit.
The retreat will primarily consist of teachings, with the guiding teachers adjusting the approach based on students' spiritual levels rather than following a fixed format. All guidance will be given to provide the greatest benefit to students in the present moment.
Once a student is accepted and payment is made, the organizer confirms accommodations and pays for lodging and meals. Therefore, cancellations, refunds, and transfers are not permitted.
The Pre-Retreat Cultivation is conducted online via Zoom over five weeks, with sessions held approximately four days per week. Live teachings by Venerable Luangpu Pramote Pamojjo are at 10 AM on Saturdays and Sundays, while recordings are played at 8 PM on other days.
Students must maintain an attendance rate of at least 70%, or the organizer may consider canceling their participation. If unable to attend live, students may listen to the recordings and must confirm completion honestly.
This is not recommended. The hotel offers a discounted accommodation and meal package through the organizer. If you book directly, costs will be higher, as the hotel will charge separately for each meal and venue fee.
The hotel provides both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, and students are not required to eat exclusively vegetarian meals.
Lay students are required to observe only the Five Precepts.
The teacher allows it but suggests that separate rooms are more beneficial for meditation practice.
All students will attend the main sessions together, with the guiding teacher instructing in Thai, except during breakout sessions. Each student will receive a translation receiver, allowing them to select their preferred language channel.
If students need to travel a long distance, early check-in is recommended. The organizer can arrange an extra night’s stay and breakfast the following morning, with costs covered by the student. For extended stays due to flight schedules, the organizer can also assist with an additional night’s accommodation. The hotel offers discounted rates for pre- and post-retreat stays, which can be arranged through the organizer.
Self-arranged transportation is recommended for Malaysian students. Airport transfer services are currently available only for students coming from outside Malaysia, with costs covered by the student.
To help students gain the maximum benefit from the retreat, we advise against frequent exits from the hotel, as factors like traffic and other disruptions could interfere with the learning experience. Therefore, all students are required to stay at the designated hotel for the entire retreat.
Even if you attend sessions without staying, the hotel will charge separately for each meal and venue, which would ultimately cost more than the package provided through the organizer.
